On-Post Housing may limit the number and breed of pets that can live in on-post housing. Contact on-post housing for more information.Due to our limited manpower and resources, veterinary emergency cases are best served through a full service civilian veterinary hospital.Registration of PetsAll dogs and cats maintained on the installation must be registered at the VTF within 3 working days of moving into Family housing or acquiring the animal(s). The animals must be current on vaccinations in accordance with Redstone Arsenal Regulation 40-1. Proof of rabies vaccination and microchip must be presented at the time of registration.Health CertificatesHealth certificates are available for interstate and international travel. Certificates required for airline travel are valid for ten (10) days only. The animal must be examined at the time of health certificate issuance. International travel regulations can be confusing and vary by country. Please contact us as soon as you know you and your pet will be travelling internationally or to Hawaii so that we can help you determine what requirements are applicable to your pet.
